As we already mentioned, Hyundai i10 is available with nine variants out of which its two variants (D-lite and Era) are equipped with 1.1L, 1086cc, IRDE (Intelligent Responsive Drive Engine) petrol engine that offers good engine performance with good fuel efficiency. These two variants of Hyundai i10 gives mileage around 14kmpl in city while 19.8kmpl on highway.

This engine is well known for delivering high engine performance with increased fuel efficiency. These variants of Hyundai i10 powered by the Kappa engine provide mileage 15.4kmpl in urban areas while on highway it gives 19.2kmpl. And the rest two variants (Magna AT and Asta AT) of Hyundai i10 equipped with the same capacity of Kappa engine but come with the automatic transmission gearbox, giving mileage around 15.4kmpl in city and 20.3kmpl on highway.

The new family members in the Hyundai i10 are 1.1 iRDE2 and 1.2 Kappa2 petrol engines. Seeing the skyrocketing petrol prices, the company has also launched two LPG variants on Hyundai i10. The 1.1 litre IRDE2 LPG engine is fitted in Hyundai i10 Era and Hyundai i10 Magna. The Alternator Management System (AMS) in the LPG variants controls delivery of power to the battery. Hyundai i10 LPG comes with easy petrol to LPG shift that offers customers a unique combination of reliable performance and unmatched fuel economy. The Manual Shift Indicator which is a first-in-class feature available in the i10 helps to achieve maximum fuel efficiency by optimum gear usage.

Hyundai i10 Photos
Hyundai i10 is available with two different capacity engines and with nine variants. Its two variants are powered by the 1.1L, 1086 cc, IRDE petrol engine is able to produce the maximum power of 66.7PS at 5500rpm and maximum torque of 10.1kgm at 2500rpm. This IRDE petrol engine delivers high performance and offers good acceleration so that the car never vibrates even after the crossing the mark of 100kmph. The rest seven variants of Hyundai i10 are powered by its popular 1.2L, 1197cc, Kappa engine produces the 80PS of maximum power at 5200rpm and 11.4kgm of maximum torque at 4000rpm. This Kappa engine is well known for offering high engine performance with better fuel efficiency.

The newly added Hyundai i10 engines are now refined and give more engine output with advanced technology; as a result engine power and performance are bettered accordingly. The new 1.1 iRDE2, SOHC, 4 cylinder powertrain lays out maximum power of 69 Ps at 5500 rpm and delivers maximum torque of 10.1 kgm at 4500 rpm while the 1.2 Kappa2,DOHC, VTVT, 4 cylinder mill generates a peak power of 80 Ps at 6000 rpm and produces a top torque of 11.4 kgm at 4000 rpm.

Two more engines are added making a total of 11 variants for Hyundai i10 buyers. But this time the engines are not powered by petrol but by LPG. Hyundai India has taken eco-friendly initiative and has launched new LPG version of i10, christened i10 ‘blue drive’ which comes with a factory-fitted LPG kit in Era and Magna that meet global standards in performance and safety.

The i10 LPG is powered by the 1.1 litre iRDE2 engine, it comes with easy petrol to LPG manual shift that offers customers a unique combination of reliable performance and unmatched fuel economy. With separate Petrol (35 litre) and LPG (34 litre) tanks, the customers have an option to choose from LPG and petrol modes. The Alternator Management System (AMS) on the LPG variants controls delivery of power to the battery. While decelerating, the power supply to the battery is normal and during acceleration it limits the power – this gives extended battery life and better mileage.

Hyundai i10 Exterior

The Hyundai i10 is equipped with nice clear headlamps which stretch towards the rear of the front end which give it the best look so far and confrontationally the i10 looks reasonably daunting. The grille section is done in chrome adds a finish to the overall appearance. The back, in unadorned and undemanding words, is boring. The tempting facades just fall short to get goes together by with the rear. The tail-gate has utterly zilch to show off about, on the appearance of front and even with the huge tail-lamps trying firm to add flash; the rear is basic and mind-numbing. The little tyres drop short to inhabit the wheel archway fine which offer the Hyundai i10 an under-tyred look. The conservatively placed boot-release lever appears fashionable though. In addition, class use of black plastic moulding upfront, on the sides and at the rear makes for a pleasurable spectacle for the eyes. The rear of Hyundai i10 is inappropriate when you think of its anterior plea. Generally the car looks fresh and appealing.

The new Hyundai i10 is added with new front headlights, new centre radiator grille with horizontal chrome slat, new bumper and triangular front fog lamps. The side view of the hatchback looks more pretty with body match waistline mouldings; the ORVMs are added with turn indicators like most other luxury cars in India. The new facelifted Hyundai i10 has identical VTVT logo and Kappa2 monogram make huge difference in the old and new one. A compact antenna does make it a new machine altogether while the rear side now comes with new bumper and reverse parking sensors. Full wheel covers are offered with the 1.2 Kappa2 variants as standard fittings.

Exterior Measurements

Hyundai i10 is a five seater premium hatchback model with a spacious passenger room. The exterior dimensions of Hyundai i10 are - its length is 3,565mm, width is 1,595mm, height 1,550mm and its wheelbase is 2,380mm with the ground clearance of 165mm and minimum turning radius of 4.75 meters.

Hyundai i10 Interior

Hyundai i10 a superb looking car both from inside as well as outside. The Hyundai i10, enhanced and got worn to that 'blushed-look' of yours and smooth talk that would be spray upon, since the interior of Hyundai i10 is damn good-looking to evaluate to any other small-car doing rounds. The two-tone color lends an air of fortune connected with cars superior in the ladder of automotive divisions and the plastics and knobs have a fastidious sense to them as well. One thing that stands out as a single characteristic is the placement of the gear-shift lever housed on the centre console.

The new Hyundai i10 is wrapped in a two tone dashboard while the three spoke steering wheel is added with mounted audio control and bluetooth push button. The dashboard has been gifted with USB port to play your favourite music and AUX connection with a power outlet socket. Apart from that, the dash meters comes with black background and a digital fuel meter along with a up shift-down indicator. The existing MP3/CD player casing is in silver and AC controls come with aluminum touch. The centre dash meters have vibrant blue illumination in place of light green. Other enhancements in the cabin of the Hyundai i10 are deluxe floor console with power outlet, metal grain finish central fascia, chrome finish inside door handles and chrome finish gear knob (comes with AT and Asta variants).

Interior Comfort

This sets free a high-quality of space on the floor which has been exploited stylishly by bestowing it with useful storage space and cup holders. There is enough space to carry things right from your wallet or cell phone to bottles. The luggage space too good but the deep loading-lip can be a cause of distress while loading/unloading baggage. On the placate phase too, the Hyundai i10 gets full marks. The front seats are not quite fashioned in a way to offer you the premium hold in all the exact places. The head-restraints are not poles apart unit as perceived in other cars and are a conservation of the chairs. I missed a dead-pedal at the side of the clutch though. The rear bench is satisfactorily solid and panders you with first-class reassurance and comfort level. The legroom was a wee bit more. Good lumber support both at the front and rear makes it a good car to cover miles.

The gadget board of Hyundai i10 is also quite wide-ranging and is conquered by a huge, white-faced Speedo that dwells in the place of smugness while a tacho, fuel and temperature gauge praises it on each side. The customary range of warning lights for various functions like seatbelt, oil levels, battery, power steering etc are all present there to presage you when something begins to go wrong.  The air conditioner on the car is outstanding so is the upholstery, the dash is ready with an in built mp3 facilitated player too.

The new Hyundai i10 is blessed with a luxurious features- powered and electronically heated outside door mirrors that allow you to adjust and clean them without opening the windows. The seats have more cushion on it that eat up most of the bumps and keep you straight as sitting in a ship. It is also blessed with height adjustable driver seat. The instrumentation now gets electronic fuel indicator and gear shift indicator (with MT versions only).

Interior Measurements

Hyundai i10 is an ultra spacious premium hatchback model that has the seating capacity of five passengers. Hyundai 10 offers generous headroom of 990mm (Front) and 940mm (Rear) with the front legroom of 1190mm (max.) and 1115mm (min) with the rear knee room of 819mm (max.) and 640mm (min.) and with the shoulder room of 1225mm. The boot capacity of this hatchback car is 225 ltrs.

Hyundai i10 Engine Capacity & Performance

Hyundai i10 Engine
Hyundai i10 is available with two engine options - its two variants are equipped with a 1.1L, 1086 cc, IRDE engine ensuring high engine performance. Its 1086cc engine capable to produces 66.6 PS power and torque of 10.1 k-gm. There are few more improvements in this new IRDE engine. The rest of the variants come with the newer generation 1.2L, 1197cc, kappa engine that offers high engine performance with better fuel efficiency - it produces 80PS power and 11.4 k-gm torque. The overall performance of this new Kappa engine is very well providing excellent and instant pick up with power.

The new facelifted Hyundai i10 has been added with a new engine technology that is VTVT in view to increase power and performance of the car and it shows when you go through the spec sheet. The car now meets Euro 4 emission norms and claims more mileage. The Hyundai i10 is available with two petrol engine options i.e. 1.1 iRDE2 and 1.2 Kappa2. The 1.1 litre iRDE2 engine now produces more power and torque figures; max power is 69 PS at 5500 rpm and max torque of 10.1 kgm at 4500 rpm. The bigger 1.2 Kappa2 engine churns out a top power of 80 PS at 6,000 rpm and 11.4 kgm at 4000 rpm.

However, seeing the decelerating demand for petrol cars, Hyundai has come up with a more viable option of LPG cylinders in the boot space of i10 so that customers can choose from petrol and LPG option while driving. The company has launched Hyundai i10 LPG in two of its variants Era and Magna. This initiative will not only boost eco-friendliness, but also offer excellent fuel economy and low cost maintenance of the hatchback. The new LPG version of i10 is christened as ‘i10 ‘blue drive’.

The Hyundai i10 LPG is powered by the 1.1 litre iRDE2 engine, it comes with easy petrol to LPG shift that offers customers a unique combination of reliable performance and unmatched fuel economy. With separate Petrol (35 litre) and LPG (34 litre) tanks, the customers have an option to choose from LPG and petrol modes. Unlike the conventional spacious LPG-fitted models, the LPG tank in the i10 blue drive has a special ‘Toroidal’ LPG tank that allows intelligent use of space and makes for larger boot space.

Hyundai i10 Braking & Handling

Hyundai i10 DashBoard
The suspension on the Hyundai i10 is Indian customised and takes up odd potholes and bumps easily, but after all this, the ride quality remains unchanged.  Perhaps, Hyundai i10 loves to go around the corners, which means you would not be missing the fun. Talking about the handling and steering of the then Hyundai i10, the steering wheel is good to hold too! Enthusiastic driving though will have you under steer heavily and those skinny tubeless tyres will howl for mercy but the disc/drum combination is that  they are powerful. Deceleration runs saw us coming to a halt from 100kmph in 4.1 seconds covering 56 meters in the process. And this, for a car not outfitted with ABS is quite neat and the car pulled in a maximum of 0.85G in the process. Brakes bid first-class bite and experience but the ABS version has paramount braking.

Hyundai i10 Handling & Safety

Hyundai i10 Safety
The new Hyundai i10 now behaves much better with a new powertrain that makes your driving more exciting with great control and comfort; even at high speed you will feel like driving a sports car and why not, there is no vibration or loss of power at any speed. The steering wheel, braking, suspension and gear shifting become more superlative with alteration in engine section.

Hyundai i10 has disc brakes in its front wheel and drum in rear wheel with ABS (Antilock Brake System). In pressure braking situations, the brakes perform well and look planted. Hyundai i10 comes with lots of safety features that ensure that driver and passengers are safe in it. The active safety features that are available with Hyundai i10 includes Dual Front Airbags that provides cushioning in case of front collisions, its flexible membrane or envelopes cover the passengers and thus provide safety in case of collision, ABS (Antilock Brake System) that prevents wheel lock-up during sudden braking condition or braking at wet or slippery road thus it prevents skidding while retaining car stability and steeribility. Front Disc Brakes increases the braking efficiency and de-accelerate the car sooner.

The other passive safety features that are available with Hyundai i10 includes Front Seat Belts with Pretensioner, Seat Belt Warning Lamp, Door Open Warning Lamp, ABS Warning Lamp, Seat Belt Reminder, Clear Lens Fog Lamps, Rear Combination Lamps, Tubeless Tyres, Engine Immobilizer, Child Locks and Central Locking. The Next Gen Hyundai i10 is added with two new features including foldable key with keyless entry and reverse parking sensor.

The LPG kit recently added in 2 variants of Hyundai i10 blue drive is impact resistant and is approved by DOE (Department of Explosives). It is tested and certified by ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) -- the country’s premier automobile testing and certifying authority.
